Star 1-2 STARSkate:
The Star 1-2 Program is the first level of the STARSkate program, a learn-to-figure skate program unique to Canada. It is the progression into the sport of figure skating after completing the CanSkate/Pre-Star programs. STARSkate offers opportunities for skaters of all ages to develop fundamental figure skating skills in the areas of freeskate, skating skills, ice dance and interpretive. Participants are taught in a group lesson format by NCCP Certified Professional Coaches trained specifically in teaching the mechanics and proper technique of figure skating in a progressive and sequential manner. Skaters have the opportunity to take Skate Canada tests through the national standardized testing system. They will also have the opportunity to start to attend Skate Canada sanctioned competitions where they will compete to a standard earning ribbons and certificates. The Star 1 program consists of both on-ice and off-ice portions to ensure that skaters are being fully developed (participation in both portions is mandatory). It is recommended that skaters participate in the full 2 day membership to achieve the best development.

As Bingos are one of our major contributors to our ice fees, over half of our ice fees are paid through our Bingo program. Our Affiliation fee will be included in your 2017-2018 fees. Once you have worked your two bingos for the year, you will receive a refund.
Please note in regards to Bingos:
i) Before you work a bingo, you must attend the bingo training provided by OLG. The training is a presentation done by an OLG employee.
ii) All club members will be emailed one week in advance of each scheduled bingo with the names of the volunteers scheduled to work. If a volunteer has a conflict, it is the responsibility of the volunteer to notify one of the Bingo Co-Chairs by email immediately.
iii) Bingo volunteers are required to provide 24-48 hours notice if they are unable to work their scheduled bingo. If the volunteer does not notify one of the Bingo Co-Chairs by email 24-48 hours in advance, a $50.00 fine will be applied.
